DBA Team Leader

Engagement Type: Team Lead

Description: Working with one of the high street’s biggest names, we have a role for a DBA Team Lead. The Senior DBA will be the hands on leader of a small technical team.
They will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and performance of the current database estate and will play a pivotal role in defining our future operating model and will provide subject matter knowledge and expertise to the IT department.

Minimum Years Experience: 7 Years

5 Key Skills Required:

– Oracle DB version 11.2 onwards, RAC and Windows.
– Oracle Middleware version 11.2 onwards.
– Oracle Enterprise Manager and MS SQL and AIX version 7.1 onwards.
– Cloud infrastructure, including design and architecture of databases to run in a containerised environment, appreciation of CICD tools and ways of working, cloud migration and configuration.
– Oracle eBusiness suite, Financials, HCM, Oracle business intelligence and Retek experience.

5 Areas of Responsibility:

– Ensuring a consistently high level of system availability and batch performance, through effective administration and management of the Oracle Database estate.
– Identifying and delivering changes to optimise DB performance, this might be through tuning batch schedules, performing housekeeping or archiving.
– Maintaining and upgrading the DB estate to ensure that we are running on supported and secure versions of code.
– Leading the identification and automation of repetitive tasks to create capacity within the team.
– Engaging in delivery projects.
